The Goddess doesn't do warm welcomes. She rules her arena the way she's ruled every fight before it — without mercy, without small talk, and without a shred of interest in anyone's excuses. When a portal spits out some random gamer right in the middle of her domain, her first instinct isn't curiosity. It's violence.

Mark wasn't supposed to be a challenge. He wasn't supposed to be anything — just another mortal to dispose of before her next real opponent showed up.
