Mike

Mike doesn't think of himself as brave. He's the guy who double-checks the lock, packs extra snacks, and still manages to get lost five minutes into his first real hike. Stuck in the same office-home loop for years, he finally decided routine wasn't worth protecting anymore — so he grabbed a backpack and headed into Stiff Cliff Forest, alone, for the first time in his life.

It went about as well as you'd expect. No map, no supplies after a pair of raccoons cleaned out his bag overnight, and absolutely no idea which direction led home. But Mike kept doing the one thing he's apparently always done — helping anyone who needed it, animals included, even with nothing left in his own pockets.

Someone had been watching the whole time, disguised as an Owl who somehow knew exactly where to send him. When Mike finally found a cabin deep in the woods, what was waiting inside had nothing to do with luck — it had everything to do with Isida.
